The parts included imitate the set features it opens wide enough for multiple children's play (I have two girls, it's perfect). And the kids reinact scenes as long as their attention span allows. Do be careful though. Some of the pieces can wind up in different places of the house - you know how kids can be. The High School Musical Playset is based on the Disney High School Musical movies (High School Musical 1, High School Musical 2, High School Musical 3) trilogy about a group of high school teenagers that sing their way through their life and times at East High. It's the modern day version of the 1970's movie Grease, with a sprinkle of the 1985 movie Breakfast Club, but without all of the issues. The most issues these teenagers face are what to wear, what to eat (that famous cafeteria), who to date, and oh yeah - my future. The movies are cute and catchy and it's no surprise how High School Musical has taken the the world (yes they are international) by storm. Yes, I was one of the moms standing in that overcrowded line on Halloween purchasing a Sharpay Dress-up High School Musical Playset with all of the accessories.
The latest release, High School Musical 3, brings the trilogy, the teenagers' we've come to know, and their adventures at East High to a close. As they approach their senior year, they expose what we have all felt in one way or another, whatever route we chose to go after High School..."So what do I do next?" As decisions are pondered, chances taken, surprises made, the movie leaves you with somewhat of a bittersweet feel - it's over, but at least we'll have the memories (smile). Seeing the true emotions felt at the closing of the movie, I had a little water in my eyes too (Ha-Ha. Just Kidding).
Seriously, with all that said, I admit that yes, I am a shameless thirty-something fan of the High School Musical movies and recommend this High School Musical Playhouse for Christmas. The singing, dancing, and funny attitudes of the cast make the entire experience addictive. Who doesn't WANT IT ALL!
